Introduction:
Most of you know me as Dr. Stacey. A little more about me personally. I am originally from ND - in the oil basin. I met Ron on a blind date through his brother in Morris (while I was in college there). I spent most of my young life as a swimmer. We have 5 children. Adrianna is 23 and has significant special needs. She is one of 150 alive with Trisomy 9 and the only one with both Trisomy 9 and Turner's Syndrome. So she is our miracle and a true blessing. We learn many valuable life lessons through her. She is also one of my biggest sources of stress and inability to do some of the things I want to/would like to do for myself and my health. Abbie is 20. She is navigating where she wants to be and go in life. Our twins McKenna and McKenzie are 17 - busy with life. Lastly, our son Jacob came to us through adoption and is 11.
I struggle with Celiac disease and other autoimmune issues. Therefore, I have to be careful to pace myself in the things I do. I have learned to say no to many outside things to enable me to be there for my work and my family. This and COVID have led to some social isolation - and this will be included on my goals. I also used to have many hobbies that have dwindled and I would like to pick up a few more - especially those that help relieve stress and keep my brain learning and rewiring. But I love photography, music, hiking and reading.
Mission:
My overall mission in life is to help those around me (myself, my family and my members) to have good/thriving health to be able to fulfill their individual missions to the best of their ability. I also want to continue to strive to be the best version of me that I can, helping and serving others (which means maintaining my own self health and development).
Goals:
1. Continue to learn all I can so that I can help others and my own family with health needs - to thrive.
Find the balance of education and not over-committing (Do 1-2 hours a week of education)
2. Start to develop or re-engage in some hobbies : Scrapbooking, photography, hiking, music
Once a week I will engage in one of these hobbies, increasing as I am able
3. Work on widening my social network (balancing what I need to, but allowing some time away for connection)
Once every few weeks I will work on even a short visit with a friend.
4. Continue to add to the team, to enable me to work at the level I am best at
I will work on delegating tasks I don't need to personally do
5. Continue to look at the areas where I am stuck in a rut - and creatively work out of these
6. Figure out how to effectively meal plan and stick to it (for longer than a week).
Not waste time planning and shopping, re-inventing the wheel each time. Making it doable!
BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goal):
Professionally: To have a model and practice that can reach out directly and indirectly to new people across the country, while having a good work/life balance. This may include being able to have clinics where my children live so I can go work and visit around the country.
Personally: This may be a work in progress...... Overall, my big goal is to work at overcoming my genetics and living the rest of my life as full and vital as I can.
