Seeking sources for protein that are not eggs or poultry ( trying to mix it up) no Tofu. Thinking of a low glcyemic load... perhaps a bean?

I am trying to have a few meals that are not heavy on the protein via poultry or eggs.
I was thinking about looking at the lowest glycemic bean match.
I am using chickpeas on salads
Breakfast is the mountain I must climb.
I have done things like stir fry for breakfast or soup but the protein seems to stay the same with chicken, turkey, eggs. Tofu and soy products wouldn't work.
I use protein powders on occasion. Mostly plant based but yuck on one level and stevia on the other.
Any ideas? Thanks!
