Zion Healthshare

Zion Healthshare

Ron here-
Last fall, one of our members brought Zion Healthshare to my attention. I was told Zion had a reduced monthly share (premium) plan for patients who were members of a Direct Primary Care (DPC) clinic.  While Flourish is not technically a DPC, I called them and spoke with their executive director who confirmed the benefits of a Flourish Membership exceeded their criteria to meet their DPC discount.

Here are the main points to know about Zion:
  1. Zion offers a lower monthly premium to Flourish members in exchange for members agreeing not to submit primary care bills from Flourish to Zion.
  2. Since primary care needs are met as part of your Flourish membership, rather than Flourish creating a superbill, you submitting it to Zion, and Zion processing the needs request (claim), they have eliminated all this administrative overhead by simply reducing their monthly premium for Flourish members
  3. Zion's membership fees for the general population are referred to as their "Direct Membership" see following link: Zion Direct Member Pricing
  1. Zion's membership fees for DPC (Flourish) members are referred to as their "Essential Membership" see following link:  Zion Essential Member Pricing
  1. The savings for being a Flourish member depend on your age range, whether you are covering just yourself, couple, or family, and the level of IUA you choose. As an example, a couple in the age range of 40-49 with kids at the $2,500 IUA (annual deductible) would pay $515/month under the Direct pricing and $350/month under the Essential pricing, for a savings that would completely pay for a Flourish Silver membership.
  2. It is important to note that while I have researched Zion in terms of doing as much "due diligence" as I can, we are very careful about associating Flourish's reputation with any 3rd party over which we have no control over quality of service or delivery on promises. From the research I have done, Zion appears to have a great model, their leadership seems visionary, and all my interactions with them have been prompt and professional. We plan to transition to them ourselves, but at this point we do not have a whole lot of feedback from our members on how they have been to work with long term.
  3. Zion pays Flourish a $20 referral fee. We are not interested in referral fees; Zion just happens to be the best healthshare I could find based on my research. If you sign up for Zion - please make sure to let them know we sent you and we'll take $20 off your membership with Flourish.
Please create an administrative ticket if you would like to discuss Zion with Ron or have more questions.
